Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his profound sorrow and offered India’s support to Nepal in the wake of a devastating earthquake that struck the country, leaving over 100 people injured and at least 128 dead. He said, “India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and we wish the injured a quick recovery,,” in a social media post. We send our condolences to the families of the deceased and hope that the injured individuals heal quickly.”
Nepal. 941 km from New Delhi and 142 km from Kathmandu was the epicenter, which was found at Lamidanda in Jajrakot. Areas including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the Delhi-NCR district were also affected by the earthquake. In many regions of Nepal, there has been significant disruption to the communication infrastructure.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ the prime minister of Nepal, declared on Saturday morning that he and a medical team would visit the affected area. For rescue operations, the Nepal Police and Army have both been called into action.
According to officials, those who were hurt are treated at the Surkhet District Hospital. The Prime Minister has also ordered security services to launch emergency rescue and relief operations to deal with the situation.
